Insomnia and sleeplessness is one of the most common issues in America. Approximately 70 million Americans can’t fall asleep or get a truly restful night’s sleep.

Why?

Unfortunately, there can be many causes of insomnia.

Stress

Poor diet

Restless Leg Syndrome

Gastrointestinal problems (GERD, heartburn)

Hormone issues

Arthritis

Chronic pain

Neurological conditions

If you find yourself completely dependent on sodas and coffees just to make it through the day, then it’s time to try something new!

Thankfully, there are some simple home remedies that you can try:

Establish a regular sleep schedule. Easier said than done, but it is possible! By going to bed at a regular time every night you can help reprogram your body to know exactly when it’s time for sleep!

Absolutely no electronics for 30 minutes to an hour before bed. No computers, no phones, no TV.

Get regular exercise every day, at least 30 minutes. A simple walk is a great way to start!

Get plenty of sun throughout the day; vitamin D deficiency is a common thread for insomniacs.

Eat a better diet; if your body has the proper nutrients it needs, sleep will come easier.

But even home remedies may not be enough to truly make the changes needed in your body to help promote better sleep...
