Specific Chiropractic adjustments are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place due to stressors such as normal daily activity, repetitive motions, and traumas such as car accidents. By realigning the displaced vertebrae, healing can take place.
A specific Chiropractic adjustment is delivered from the chiropractor utilizing their hands or an instrument to move a vertebrae back into its proper place. When you're adjusted, you may hear a noise that sounds like you're cracking your knuckles; this is referred to as joint cavitation. Joint cavitation is not bones rubbing against each other; it is actually the release of gases such as oxygen and nitrogen from the joint.
Adjustments are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level. When the body is in alignment, the body is able to respond and perform as it was designed to!
Progressive Chiropractic, an office that has been an established part of Gilbert for 30 years, enjoys and utilizes several different Chiropractic techniques in order to serve each person’s specific needs. Be it a strong confident adjustment (Diversified Technique), a swift and specific adjustment (Thompson Technique), or a gentle adjustment with no "crack" (Activator Technique)–Progressive Chiropractic does it all, and tailors every treatment plan specific to YOU so that you can heal and respond in the best way possible!
X-rays are often taken on most patients to give the doctors at Progressive Chiropractic an inside look at what is going on with the bone structure of the entire spine and surrounding skeletal structures. From this x-ray, the doctors can determine the state of your spine--be it structural changes or even damage that may be present. We even refer to the x-ray as our "blueprint", as we utilize specific analyses from the x-ray in order to form your individual treatment plan.
Without a blueprint, there's too much guesswork involved. We always use proper precautions, and we only take the necessary number of x-rays to ensure the best possible results for your spinal care. No guesswork = better results!
